I Love A Clown Parade!

I love any parade - but especially a clown parade! All of their colorful costumes and wigs, the painted on smiles and big red noses!

Once again, the "Parade of A Thousand Clowns" at the Red Skelton Fesitval in Vincennes, Indiana made a grand march through town and a grand impression on all of the onlookers!

I know there are only three "types" of clowns but when there are so many in one place and they are all different, it is truly amazing!

Vincennes, IN is the birthplace of Red Skelton, famous for his clown characters, including Clem Kadiddlehopper and Freddy the Freeloader.

The Red Skelton Clown School was established this year at Vincennes University and is dedicated to teaching comprehensive clown skills to students committed to the art of clowning. This fantastic parade is held at the end of the Red Skelton Tribute Festival and Clown School week and begins a day full of clown fun and festivities. This year there was even a clown wedding! That's right - two clowns were married by a clown minister. It was fantastic!

Here's are some clips of this year's parade and you can find parade and festival pictures from last year here.
